Rocky Horrorfest

Let's do the time warp again.  It's just a jump to the left...

One night some friends in a band decided to play a couple songs from the Rocky Horror Picture Show.  They enjoyed themselves so much, an idea was born.  What if we got a bunch of people together, showed the movie and then played the songs?

You get the First Annual Rocky Horrorfest.
It was held on the second level of the Copacabana on South Street.  Who knew a 35 year old movie would have such a draw?  There were plenty of people who showed up.  Some in costume which was great.  Unfortunately it was difficult to hear the movie and thus interact by shouting out comeback lines.  It's funny how much of it came back to me considering the years it's been since I last saw the movie.

The evening was still fun.  Had a few drinks and couple laughs.  The band afterwords was great too.  I can't wait for next year.  Maybe I'll be able to fit into my corset by then.

Ice Ice Baby

Winter is coming to a close.  We've had quite a bit of snow this year.  It was on the ground for most of the winter.
Mother Nature likes to keep us guessing so she recently gave us a bit of nasty weather combined.  Rain, snow, sleet and freezing rain all at once.  Then the temps go back up and it disappears like a dream after you wake.
It's beautiful as long as I don't have to drive in it.

Farewell Morgana

Another kitty has her wings.  This time it was my mother's cat, Morgan.

About 18 years ago I was given a cute black and white kitten as a present.  Not only are you never supposed to do that but you also shouldn't buy one from a pet store.  So she had two strikes against her but how could you resist falling in love with this face.
It's the Crawford-like birth mark that just made her adorable.  Soon afterwards she moved with me into my new apartment.  I got another kitty, an orange tabby, from a farm litter.  One thing lead to another and...
She had a litter of four.  They were born in that apartment very early one morning right beside my bed.  The cuteness meter was pegged on high.

Then I bought a house which wasn't going to be ready right away.  The kitties and I had to move into my parents house for a couple months.  The kittens grew fast.  Morgan's personality changed.  She became very noisy.  Something about motherhood changed her into a bitch.  Three of the kittens found new homes.  One went with me into my new house and Morgan got left behind.

Once again she became a gift, this time for my parents.  It's a wonder my mother still speaks to me.  It was a rough start but Mogan enjoyed her new home and became quite spoiled.  Karma caught up with me when her son became as noisy and demanding as she did.

Morgan you will be missed.  We'll remember you in our hearts and ringing eardrums.
